Hello! I am Kas

A husband, father of two, cloud engineer, and technology tinkerer. I've been lucky enough to enjoy 6 months of paternity leave in 2023 with my beautiful daughter. The thing is babies sleep alot! During her nap time, I thought it might be cool to set myself another challenge to start a homelab that I can use to sharpen up some engineering skills. Why a home-lab? Having worked with public cloud technology, I wanted to see what it would be like to be able to self host some capabilities at home. The beauty of self-hosting is that take I can control of my own "cloud" services, control my data and discover new, free open source software that can provide solutions to everyday problems.
